PONTOON MOORING CONSTRUCTION (Nov. 2012)
Work commenced on piling for the new pontoon in Autumn 2011. It is planned to be
operational in Spring 2012. For updates see our News page.
Our Moorings
Four types of moorings are available. All are close (within 10 minutes walk)
from Gravesend town centre. The choice of facilities means that a wide range of
type and size of craft can be accommodated.
ALL TIDE BUOY MOORINGS
Fore and aft moorings on the tidal Thames, adjacent to the town and close (300
metres) from the shore. Suitable for craft up to 30m with a draft under 2.5m.
Smaller craft can moor up in line and/or may raft alongside each other in busy
periods.
HALF TIDE QUAY MOORINGS
100 metres of quayside, adjacent to the town, is available for flat bottomed or
bilge keel craft able to take the ground for half the tide. Not suitable for
fin keeled yachts or motor craft with out-drive legs.
ALL TIDE PONTOON MOORINGS
Mooring for short periods alongside a pontoon connecting to the Gravesend Town
Pier. The pontoon also provides a landing point from the buoy moorings either
to temporarily embark or disembark or to land a dinghy.
MARINA MOORINGS
Access to the Marina is only at High Water Tilbury. Craft can “wait the tide” on the river moorings. full details at www.theembankmentmarina.com
